PARTY FOR BRIDE-ELECT.

Miss Hilary Fryer, who is to be married next week to Mr Helyan Bishop, was the guest of honour at a party given by Mrs Geoffrey Pidgeon at her home in Knowles Street last evening. Trump whist was played in the draw-ing-room, which was decorated with bowls of mixed flowers, hydrangeas and fuchsias. After supper, Miss Fryer opened a large number of parcels containing kitchen gifts for her new home. Mrs Pidgeon wore a smart frock of black satin, with a lace yoke, and Miss Fryer’s white crepe dress was patterned in delft blue; Those present were:—Mesdames Bishop, E. L. Cordery, F. J. Needham, L. L. Cordery, F. P. Osmond-Smith and Russell Cordery, Misses Celia Twyneham, Barbara Bruce, Noreen Russell, Joan Buchanan, Janet Seymour, Patricia Needham, Joyce Os-mond-Smith and Nancy Monk (Gisborne).
