7d a Gallon for New Coal By-product. United Press Assn. —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, February 13. The “ Daily Herald ” says that by midsummer Imperial Chemical Industries’ petrol plant will be producing oil from coal at a rate of 30,000,000 gallons a year at Billingham-on-Tees. the new industrial township, on which the company has spent £25.000.000. The Government has guaranteed a tax preference of 4d a gallon as against imported petrol, and it is stated the production price is under 7d a gallon.
