“MURDER.”
Card Player Accused of Crime. LONDON, February 6. John Bainbridge. 24. an infantryman, attended a New Years Eve party at his fiancee’s home, and played the game of “ murder.” He drew the ace of spades and acted the part of the “ murderer.” Bainbridge, without any sign of agitation, took part in the fun until 4 a.m. The Crown now alleges that, a few hours before the party, Bainbridge murdered Edward Hedman, 75—whose head was battered and throat cut—and robbed him of £36. The hearing was adjourned.
