ROOF BLAZING.

Bothers Rush to the Rescue. RAILWAY YARD SCENE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND. This Day. Fire broke out soon after noon to day in the roof of the railway engine cleaning sheds and for a time threatened to destroy the whole building which is an old wooden one. The fire started with a spark from a passing engine. Most of the employees had. stopped for lunch and some were swimming in the boat harbour nearby. All immediately helped to check the outbreak till the brigade arrived. Two men. one stripped to the waist, pnd another in bathing trunks, dragged hoses on to the roof. Others manned the shunting engines to tow locomotives from the shed. The damage was confined to the roof and rafters.
