DANCE AT HALSWELL.
Christchurch Fete Receives Support. A successful dance and card party was held recently at Halswell, the proceeds to be devoted to the funds of the “ Red House ” at the forthcoming sale of work for tire Sisters of the Mission building funds. The success of the evening was mainly due to the efforts of Mrs Chapman, Laby’s Road, Halswell. Prizes for euchre were won by Mesdames Kelly and Ravage and Messrs A. M’Drury and P. Synfes. Consolation prizes went to Mrs W. Gates and Mr Chapman. The successful couples in the novelty dances were Miss M’Drury and Mr Nolan and Miss and Mr Taylor. A tap dance was given by Miss Walkin. The music was supplied by the Excelsior Band and Mr W. P. Hickey was M.C. Those present included:—M'esdames Chapman. J. E. Hall. W. Gates, Poff, Talbot, Spicer (Southbridge), Sumner, Khouri, L.
