Christchurch Society’s Race From Fielding. Tlie Christchurch Racing’ Pigeon Society recently flew off an old-bird race from Feilding. The winning bird, Blue Ensign, owned by .T. Hartland, put up a good performance to fly the 273 miles 1560 yards in 6hr 51 min. Results: Yds per min. J. Hart land’s Blue Ensign .. 1177 .T. Golding’s Sky Queen 1173.7 A. Walker’s Bullet 11 SO A. BSI A. Scott’s Triumph 851 T. Taylor’s Logan Lad 573 W. Wrighfs Bubbles 567 The nominated bird prize was won by J. Golding and A. Walker. Waiouru Race. The club also flew off a. race from Waiouru. Sixty-eight birds, representing fifteen owners, were sent. Owing to bad weather the birds were held up over the week-end at Waiouru and were liberated by the stationmaster at 6.30 on the Monday morning, after having been four days in the hampers. The winning bird. Lord Harry, a red chequer cock owned by A. Thompson, arrived home in good condition, flying the 340 miles 270 yards in Shr 51 min. Results: Yds per min. A.
