STORE DESTROYED.
TE AWAMUTU, October 1. Fire this afternoon destroyed a store and dwelling at Kihikihi owned by W. F. Lees and Co. The fire apparently started in the roof. It spread quickly in the absence of firefighting equipment. Only the books and a few oddments were recovered I 'x he store, established about fifty years ago. was a well-known landmark. The insurances are with the New Zealand Office, the amounts not being available.
