A meeting of those interested in the newly-formed mortar platoon was held in the King Edward Barracks last evening. Captsin W. Murphy explain- | ed that the officers for the platoon . would be picked from the ranks. J Parades would be fortnightly, with j six half-day parades a year and an annual camp. It was hoped that the j platoon would take part in the bivouac camp at Balcairn over Labour Day week-end. Old boys’ associations from various schools had promised their support. A number of recruits were enlisted.
