AMATEUR BOXING.

To-morrow evening- the second amateur novice tournament of the season will be staged in the Caledonian Hall by the Christchurch Sports Club, st: rting at 7.30. The entries consist of fortythree different competitors, which will entail at least thirty qontests. Amonest thdse who will be competing are e-ght from the Ashburton district and a strong team from Lyttelton. Novice tournaments are always popular with the fans owing to the eagerness in which the lads enter into the fighting, making every post a winning post. In view of the large number of entries, the first bout will start at T.1'.0 sharp, the doors opening at 7 p.m. In order to avoid disappointment intending patrons would be well advised to be there at the opening of the doors.
