GAMES START TOO LATE.

Although the Canterbury League football executive has warned its senior teams about starting the matches late, the warning has not had much effect. On Saturday the Addington-Ruru game, played on the North Park, did not start until almost half an hour after schedule time. The result was that when the match concluded at ten minutes to five, it was almost too dark to play. The opinion was expressed byseveral spectators that it was high time that clubs which started their games after three o’clock should be penalised in some form or other. More prompt starting of matches would be effected if referees were on the ground at the appointed time.
