South Canterbury Team Beaten. (Special to the ** Star.’*) ASHBURTON. July 22. Representative fixtures between South Canterbury and Mid-Canterbury Hockey Associations were played at Ashburton on Saturday afternoon, the Ashburton teams, men's and women’s, winning in each case. In the men’s match Ashburton won by 4 goals to 2, the scorers being: For Ashburton W. Corbett and M. Lees one each and L. Honeyman two; for South Canterbury Hahn and Hawkey. The women’s match was won by Ashburton by 6 goals to nil. the scorers being T. Williams CD. M. Owen (2). F. Gudsell and B. Brand one each. Competition Games. In the women’s junior grade competition Meth von beat High School bv default. The senior B grade match between Kereone and High School and the junior grade match between Hinds and Mount Somer# were postponed on account of rain. _____
