BIRTHDAY DANCE.

St John Ambulance Nursing Division. LYTTELTON BRANCH. A most successful birthday dance was held by the Lyttelton Nursing Division of St John Ambulance in the Excelsior Hall on Saturday evening. The dance was organised by an energetic social committee, the members being Miss R. Ferguson (superintendent of the Lyttelton Nursing Division), Mesdames W. B. Laing, W. M’Ginty, F. Boyd, C. Ellis, E. Anderson, C. Smith, Misses Nystrum and Vidulich.

Master Douglas Shepperd and Miss I. Shepperd gave a dance entitled “ A Ballroom Episode.” Miss I. Shepperd also gave a solo tap-dance. Mr and Mrs Sydney Hollis, Christchurch, gave two exhibition dances, the skaters’ waltz and the latest fox-trot. Miss E. Meade sang “ Always ” and “ Tell Me Tonight.” The birthday cake was cut by Mesdames Bishop, lady district superintendent, and Fricker, lady corps superintendent. Mr J. Morgan was M.C.
