Onion and Orange . Salad .

To-day's Recipe

Peel some oranges and cut them in thin slices, and place them in the bottom of a salad bowl.

Sprinkle with caster sugar and add a layer of thinly sliced raw onion seasoned with salt and pepper.

Repeat the layers alternately until you have as much salad as you require.

Pour over enough vinegar to cover the contents of the bowl, and let it stand for an hour before it is served.
