DOLL EXHIBITION.
Owing to an unforeseen chain of circumstances, an outstanding entry in the doll-dressing competition was not placed before the judges. The management of New Zealand Newspapers has decided to award it a special prize of £3 3s cash. The winner of this prize is: Miss Ngaire Calvert, 21, Dyer’s Pass Road, Cashmere. Her entry was as near perfection as a doll-dressing entry could be, each detail most perfectly executed, and she proved to be equally versatile in smocking, embroidery, knitting and crochet. Arrangements are now complete for the doll exhibition which will be held in the H.B. buildings (corner of High and Cashel Streets) from Tuesday till Saturday next. Admission is 3d for adults and Id for children, the proceeds being given to the Mayoress’s Relief of Babies’ Fund. Will exhibitors please call at the “ Star ” office for their exhibits any time next week?
