WEDDINGS.
Grant—Mead. A wedding of interest to New Zealanders was celebrated at Marylebone Parish Church, London, when Mr Frank William Grant, of the New Zealand Shipping Company, was married to Miss Margaret B. Mead, daughter of Mrs E. Mead, of Blenheim, and the late Mr Mead, and sister of Major Owen H. Mead, D. 5.0., Dunedin. The ceremony was performed by the vicar, the Rev Dr Morris.
The bride, who was given away by Major R. Jones, wore a becoming frock of ice-blue lace with a wide hat in the same shade. She carried a bouquet of deep yellow roses. The bridesmaid was Miss Marion Goyen (Dunedin). Ifer frock was of beige tulle delicately embroidered with pastel flowers, with which she wore a wide pink straw nat to match her bouquet of pink sweet peas. The best man was Mr Campbell Smith. A number of New Zealanders were present at the wedding. BURNS—ROBB. The marriage was celebrated recently at Kaiapoi of Kathleen, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs John Robb, Credland Street, to John Francis eldest son of the late Mrs and Mr Burns, Waimate. The Rev G. Hercus performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory satin made on princess lines, the skirt flaring from the knees. Cowl folds softened the neckline of the bodice, and her embroidered tulle veil was held in place with a coronet of pearls She carried a beautiful. bouquet of white flowers. Miss Ina Ching. cousin of the bride, was the bridesmaid. She wore a pretty frock of shell pink georgette cut oil straight lines to the hips. The sleeves were made with shoulder capes and fitted tightly to the wrists. She earned a pink bouquet. Mr Bert Robb was the best man. The reception was afterwards held at the Oddfellows’ Hall. Kaiapoi, where Mrs Robb received her guests wearing a grey frock with a hat to match. Mr and Mrs Burns later left by car for the south.
