Bromley Relief Work.

Dear Sir, —Yesterday and to-day (Monday and Tuesday') were declared wet days, and on reporting for work we were sent home and will be paid for these days. I have been employed on relief work in the Bromley’ Riding for some considerable time and can honestly state that this week has been the first when we have not been kept on the job. Evidently Mr Flavell has not been aware of the fact, but surely' some councillors have. The shelter behind which four men can crouch, a tool box, has only been placed there during the past few day's. Writing for the men concerned, relief workers, I wish to thank the “ Star ” for the consideration and help it has given in bringing about a more tolerable and humane state of conditions for us all. —I am, etc., RELIEF WORKER NO. 1.
