Dear Sir, —I could quote an instance in support of ‘‘Passer By’s ” remarks. My wife was wheeling her bicycle through the Square when a police sergeant unnecessarily told her to “ keep moving with that bike.” While it is realised that the bicycle and its control in traffic is becoming one of the city's many problems, surely' the cyclist is entitled to be spoken to courteously. Strangely enough, the habit seems to persist in the men with the stripes only. I have always found the constable to be a model of politeness.—l am, etc., ALSO PASSING
