HALL SHAKEN.
GELIGNITE PLACED UNDER STEPS. Commotion at Dance. SENSATIONAL AFFAIR AT FRANKTON. Per Press Association. HAMILTON, May 7. A charge of gelignite placed under the side steps of the Frankton Town Hall caused a commotion among 400 dancers when it exploded during the progress of a dance on Saturday evening. A section of the weather-boarding was blown away, but little damage was done. The building shook with the force of the detonation, but the couples were soon reassured, and continued dancing. Most of the force of the explosion was spent in the air, as the gelignite was not in a confined space. Had the explosive been placed further under the building the damage might have reached more serious proportions.
