GIFT TO HOSPITAL.

British Official Wireless. • RUGBY, May 4. An anonymous benefactor of St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, has made himself liable for gifts totalling £105,000 Already he has given £55.000 to the hospital and he has promised, in addition, to double every pound received from the public up to £50,000. The Duke of York, when announcing this offer, said that neither he or his wife, who is president of the hospital, knew the name of the donor. The only person aware of his identity was the chairman of the board of govenors.
