BOWLERS’ BALL.

Papanui Club’s Successful Venture. The Papanui Bowling Club held its first annual ball at the Papanui Memorial Hall on Wednesday. The Ladies’ Committee largely responsible for its success was;—Mesdames Burrell (convener), Lange, Morrison, Hadley, Hartley, Noble, J. Kettle, Bond, Smith, Skevington and Nunweek. Mr J. Noble was chairman cf the Men’s Committee Mr R. C. Morrison was M.C., and Bradford’s Band supplied the dance music. The winners of the lucky spot dance were Mrs Cowles and Mr D. Smith. The Monte Carlos were won by Miss Ward and Mr Cameron and Miss Owen and Mr O’Callaghan. The card prize winners were;—Mesdames Moran and Coffey and Messrs Hunt and Lange. Those present were: Mesdames Bicknell, Hadley, Banks, Nunweek, Skevington, Cowles, Burrell, Orbell, Hartley, Shipley, Billson, Alorrison, Smith, Kettle, Schumacher, Ives, Drummond, Alorwood, Broughton and Gregory; Misses J.
