RESCUED FROM LAUNCH.

Two Men Saved Before

Craft Sinks

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, December 15.

As the Kapiti was leaving Welling, ton late last night {Or Wanganui a call was received to go to a launch which had broken down in the harbour. Not only had the launch engine stopped, but the craft had sprung a leak and by the time the two occupants Alexander Robert Pratt and Sydney John Hodge, were picked up by the Kapiti the water was up to the flywheel. The master of the Kapiti decided to buoy the launch near Point Halswell, and here it eventually sank. The men were returning from a fishing expedition off Baring Head when trouble overtook them. The Kapiti returned to the wharf to put them ashore.
