Christ’s College Bowler Gets a Wicket. UNDERARM DELIVERY. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, December 15. j The annual cricket match, Christ's | College v. Otago Boys’ High School, | commenced this morning, i Otago batted first and at lunch had ! lost eight for 90 (Edwards 20, Payne | 14. Graham 11, Kindiev not out 1(P The wickets were divided by Burj bury, Ormond and Thompson (two ; each), Harper and Alexander (one | each). ! Ormond put his shoulder out and, j completing the over with underhand ' deliveries, had Farrell caught behind j the wickets. Notes on the Play. (Special to the ** Star.") DUNEDIN, December 15. ! The well-varied College attack was : excellently handled by the College captain, Harpur. Ormond, a promoted second eleven player, was probably the fastest of the bunch and bowled fairly accurately, but his second wicket was obtained in unusual fashion. He hurt his shoulder and electetd to finish his over bowling underarm. The last ball Farrell played carelessly and was caught behind the wickets by Webb. Webb kept very well considering that he had an in--1 iured hand. Webb stumped two men this morning and caught one. For that matter, the College fielding was smart and keen throughout, and : though one or two chances were missed, catches were usually very quickly snapped up. Although he claimed only one wicket, Alexander was one of the most impressive of the College bowlers. Fie is a slow leg-break bowler, and was bringing one back from the off occasionally. Harpur, who also claimed a wicket, is a slow left-hand bowler and kept a good length. (Other cricket reports appear on page 11.)
