CHRISTMAS FAIR.

Methodist Church Funds Benefit.

A Christmas fair was held under the auspices of the Clarence Road Methodist Church on Wednesday evening in the schoolroom. The Rev li. Ryan presided over a large attendance, and welcomed Father Christmas on his arrival.

The stalls which w’ere arranged with a variety of goods were in the charge of the following: Christmas trees, Mrs FI. Ryan (president), Misses M. Hodg-

son, Gwen and Eileen Ryan; variety stall, Mrs W. H. Barrell and Miss K. Johnstone; ice cream and soft drinks. Misses Molly Ryan, Lois Dailey; produce stall, Messrs F. Cross and J. Caiter; supper, Mesdames F. Wise, W. Mercer, Miss E. Russell and I. Taylcr (secretary); cake stall, Mesdames J. Dixon and G. Taylor. The Young Men’s Bible Class members were in charge of the various sideshows and competitions. Musical items were given by Miss Freda Moir (violin obligato). Miss Eileen Ryan was the pianist, and Mr F. Wallis gave a banjo solo.
