INSPECTORS’ PICNIC.
Traffic Staff Pays Visit to Charteris Bay. A most enjoyable picnic was held by the traffic inspectors of the Christchurch City Council during the weekend at Charteris Bay, on the property of Mr Anderson. The wtather was perfect. One hundred and fifty people thoroughly enjoyed the outing. During the afternoon the Mayor (Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P.) and the Town Clerk (Mr J. S. Neville), with Mrs Sullivan and Mrs Neville, patronised the picnic. The prizes won during the day were presented by the Chief Traffic Inspector. The sports resulted as follows: Girls six to ten—Bernice Hamilton 1, Doreen Finnerty 2. Girls ten to fifteen —Monica Bruorton 1, Eunice Williams 2. Ethne Pateman 3. Girls fifteen and over —x.
