DRIVER KILLED.

Loaded Truck Goes Over Bank. Per Press Association. NELSON, December 5 Charles Dean, thirty-five years of age, a married man with no children, was killed instantly yesterday when a loaded gravel truck he was driving went over a bank on the Hope Saddle while passing a car. The truck was smashed to pieces. A passenger, William Evans, of the State Forestry Department, was injured and was sent to hospital. Dean was an Australian and had been in New Zealand two years. The truck fell seventy feet before the men were thrown clear, but the vehicle hurtled on down the slope for a considerable distance.
