POLICE COURT.

Charge of Theft is Dismissed. A sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was held this morning, Mr E. D. Moslev. S.M.. presiding. Frederick Thomas Crump, who appeared on remand, was charged with stealing a lamb at Burnham on November 23. Accused called two witnesses. Mr Moslev said that there was an element of doubt and Crump would get the benefit of it. He dismissed the information. _ C'harles Downing, who had pleaded guiltv previously to the same charge, was convicted and dscharged. Stole on Honeymoon. William Henry, a labourer, forty-seven years of age, was charged with stealing plants valued at 9s, the property of the Domains Board. It was stated that the plants had been taken from a frame rack in the Gardens. It was also stated that the accused was on his honeymoon. Had he a fixed home, there would have been some reason for the theft. The Magistrate asked accused what he was going to do with the plants. Accused said that he was going to put them in his garden when he got a home. He added that he did it on the spur of the moment, and was very sorry for what he had done. The Magistrate said he was very

foolish and convicted and fined him £2, in default fourteen days’ imprisonment.
