OBITUARY.

C. J. Morland.. The death occurred •in the Christchurch Hospital recently of Mr C. J. Morland. lie was the son of Mr William Morland, and was born at Riseholme, Spreydon, in Isfovember, 1876. He was educated at the Spreydon School, and on taking up the teaching profession was a pupil teacher in tde same school. On leaving the training college he was appointed to the Charing Cross School, where he remained for six years. He taught later at Greendale. Ladbrooks, Prebbleton and Southbrook, but subsequently left teaching to take up farming at Ilororata. On giving up farming Mr Morland was for some time organiser for the North Canterbury Farmers’ Union, and at the time of his death was in the Dominion Life Insurance Company. He was a prominent member of the Masonic fraternity. Mr Morland is survived by his widow and family of three sons and three daughters.
