Butter Prices.

Dear Sir, —A larger and more equitable measure of assistance would be granted by lessors and mortgagees and even the Government while low prices prevail if primary producers would promise to share their gain when comparatively high prices are received. The proposal to raise the local price of butter would be acceptable to consumers. if they could be promised a reduction of the local price should the export price rise comparatively high. Co-opera-tive sharing in price fluctuations would be both fair and expedient. Without demand there is no value. Doctors and the Health Department might advise a greater use of butter and promote the economic spending of incomes.—l am. etc., HAROLD BOWATER. 53, Denbigh Street, Feilding.
