CRUSOE ISLAND WEDDING
A romantic wedding story has been sent by the captain of the liner Reina del Pacifico to the office of the Pacific Steam Navigation Company in Liverpool, states a correspondent. When the ship, which was cruising, called at Robinson Crusoe’s Island two of the passengers electrified those on board by announcing their decision to be married. They were Mr W. A. Denker, of Boston, and Miss Maria Bosche, of Santiago. The couple were escorted ashore bv practically the whole ship’s company, and while the sub-delegate of the island was performing the ceremony on the beach a raft bearing a representation of Robinson Crusoe and Man Friday, complete with parrot and goat, hove in sight and landed in the midst of the wedding party. Crusoe and Friday became witnesses of the wedding, and hundreds of photographs were taken of the romantic scene. There were wedding chimes on the ship and general rejoicing.
