Miss L. Copplestone to Try Channel -Swim. HELD UP BY BAD WEATHER. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received August 15, 11 a.m.) LONDON, August 14. Miss Lily Copplestone, the New Zealand swimmer, has sent a letter to the Australian Press Association from Cape Gris Nez, stating that she has not abandoned her attempt to swim the English Channel, but that Channel swimming seems to be a game of patience. “ I have waited for suitable weather .since the end of July, and I may have to wait for ages yet,” she said. A Londoner, Mrs Coleman, will be the first of a dozen aspirants to start and Miss Copplestone will be next.
