Tourist Losses.

To th* Editor. Dear Sir. —I heartily Agree with the Invercargill Chamber of Commerce regarding the need for curtailing expenditure on tourist resorts like the Milford track. There is not one person in a thousand in New Zealand who can think of going near such places, and if there is any return for the money', the Government gets so little of it that the game is not worth the candle. And Milford is not the only case of Government expenditure for the benefit of private individuals. When we are all so terribly hard up thi.j is not the time to splurge on tourist resorts.—l am. etc., A BRIGHTON BACHER.
