WINTER SHOW
School Children Attend in Large Numbers. The Winter Show, is proving as nopular with the children as ever. Everyday there is a big attendance of juveniles, and all sections of the display find favour in their enthusiastic eyes. This morning there was a contingent of 580, drawn from the following schools: I’ananri (70). Sumner (100), Sprevdon (100). Woolston (250), and Prebbleton (60). This afternoon the following were expected:—West Christchurch (300), Normal (200), Bromlev (40k Waltham (200) and Bur wood (65), a total of 805. The special exhibits for the children, such as the Punch and Judy Show and the gymnastic exhibition, are well received, and the attendants at the various stalls are wiling to explain all their exhibits in- detail to the young visitors. Arrangements have been made with the Railway Department in regard to the transport of children from the West Coast. On Tuesday evening the (Allowing will arrive, returning on Thursdav morning:—Cobden (3D. Runanga (6). (5) and Ross (6). The following will arrive on Thursday and return on Saturday:—Grevmouth Main School (46). The following will arrive on Thursday and return on Monday:— Taylorville (30). Dobson (19), Grevmouth Convent (19) and Grey-mouth Marists (2D. The Schools Marshal will meet each train at Arthur’s Pass, so that he may complete arrangements fdr l illeting bv the t’me of arrival in Christchurch Peop-e willing to bi’let the visiting West Coast children are -invited to give their names in at the Education Board’s office.
