TIMARU SOCIAL NOTES.
Mrs George Pinckney (“Glenaray”) is spending a few days in Christchurch. Miss O’Brien (Orbell Street) left on Saturday to stay with Mrs Edgar Jones (“Otiritiri”). Mrs V. F. Boyle (England) and Miss Rosa Tripp (Wai-iti Road) will arrive from England about December 15. Mrs Howard Tripp (Wai-iti Road), who has been staying in Dunedin, will return home to-day. Mile Blanche Le Jeunne (Paris), who has been visiting South Canterbury s -, has left for Wellington. Mrs A. Blakiston (Orari Gorge) returned to Timaru on Saturday after a short visit to Geraldine. The Misses Rattray (“Craighall,” Dunedin), who have been on a trip to England, will pass through Timaru tomorrow on their way home. Mrs W. T. Ritchie (“Te Tawa”), who has been the guest of Mrs M. M. Ritchie (Dunedjn), is expected home to-day. Mr and Mrs Gladstone Robinson and Miss Kathleen Robinson (“Oakwood”), who have been visiting England, will return to Timaru to-morrow. Mr and Mrs James Innes (“Haldon”), who have been staying in Timaru, will leave to-day for the Mackenzie Country. Mrs I. D. Mackenzie (Maple Bay) arrived from Vancouver by the Niagara. Mrs Mackenzie, who is going to Dunedin to stay with her mother, Mrs J. M. Ritchie (“Balvraid”), is accompanied by Miss Joan Ritchie (Dunedin). At St Mary’s Church, Timaru, a christening took place on Saturday afternoon, when the infant daughter of Mr and Mrs James Innes (Haldon Station, Mackenzie Country) was christened Mary Moana Innes. Afterwards afternoon tea was given at Mrs Innes s house in Bidwell Street, where those present included:—Mr and Mrs James Innes (Haldon), Mrs C. E. Thomas, Mr and Mrs Timaru Rhodes, Mrs F. L. Barker, Mr Eric Rhodes and Mr Bernard Thomas.
