ST ALBANS SCHOOL.

Af the monthly meeting of the St Albans School Committee, Mr W. P. Ltiches presided over a full attendance. Ohe head master’s report showed that roll number was still increasing; 720 children were now attending the school. A deputation from the St Albans Swimming Club, consisting of Messrs Prouting and Stanton, waited on the committee and made application for tne use of the school baths. On the deputation retiring, the committee granted the request, and decided to make a charge of £2 10s *for the season, the Swimming Club to keep the baths in order and supply their own material for cleaning same. On the motion of Mr Thomson, seconded by Mr Atkinson the committee decided to give the teams'who had played for the school in various winter games, together with their parents, a social evening. Messrs Grade, Atkinson and Thomson were appointed to make the necessary arrangements. The school Association football team won the competition cup for 1930. They were coached by Mr C. H. Reid, of Cranford Street. The Rugby team finished in second place in their grade ~A vote of thanks to Mr G. Barrell and Mr Collins for assistance in a recent working bee was carried. The various committees reported that work was going along smoothly in connection with the coming bazaar to be held in the schoolroom next month.
