TRAMWAY BOARD AWAITS THE ORDER-IN-COUNCIL.

Questioned to-day about the present position of the Tramway Board’s scheme to replace the Northcote tram service with trolley buses, Mr W. Hayward, chairman of the board, said that the Order-in-Council empowering the board to carry out the work was being awaited. The delay in putting the Order through had undoubtedly been due to the change-over in the Ministry, but it should not be long now before the board was in a position to proceed.
