ANNUAL BALL.
From as far afield as Ashburton, Greymouth and Waimate, visitors gathered at the Winter Garden last night, to attend the annual ball of the Christchurch branch of the National Mortgage and Agency Company, Limited, and there could be no doubt that all enjoyed themselves thoroughly. The members of the committee, to whose efforts the success of the ball was due, were, Miss Marjorie Nelson, Messrs W. Ivillner (honorary secretary), J. Y. Allen, D. W. Scott and J. Manchester. The Bailey-Marston Orchestra supplied the music, and the distribution of brightly-coloured paper hats, gay streamers, and snowballs, formed an exciting interlude, which added to the gaiety of the gathering.
