WEDDING.
POSTGATE—RASTRICK. A wedding that excited more than passing interest took place at St Mary’s Church, Merivale. yesterday, the bride being Nancy Kathleen, " only daughter of Mr and the late Mrs John Rastrick, Merivale, and the groom Colin Willison, only son of Mr and Mrs R. B. Postgate, Sumner. The ceremony was performed by the Ven. Archdeacon P. B. ITaggitt, while Mr A. Worsley was organist. The bride, who was given a wav by her father, wore an attractive model frock of ivory crepe de chine, embroidered with silver sequins and crystal beads, while her hand-embroidered ivory tulle veil was held with clusters of orange blossom which had been worn by her mother. She carried a sheaf of regal lilies. Miss Kathleen Harrop, the bridesmaid, had chosen for her frock a dainty French model of shell-pink georgette having panel embroideries of rose and gold. With this was worn a pink ballibuntl hat touched with blue embroidery to tone, and her bouquet was of blue delphiniums. Miss Heather Holland, a dainty little flower-girl, was dressed in shell-pink organdie trimmed with tin}' pale blue frills and pink organdie sun bonnet. She also carried delphiniums in the form of an Early Victorian posy. Mr Ronald Rastrick, brother of the bride, attended the groom as best man. The wedding breakfast was held in the Merivale Schoolroom, where guesjs to the number of about sixty were received by Mrs Eric Rastrick, who acted as hostess. Her frock of cornflower blue georgette was made with a dainty fichu collar of grey georgette., and her hat of black ballibuntl was large and drooping. Miss Alice Rastrick, aunt of the bride, who assisted in receiving the guests, wore beige crepe de chine with pleated panels of rose patterned crepe de chine and a chic beige hat to tone. Mrs R. B. Postgate, mother of the bridegroom, wore an ensemble suit, in black crepe de chine, the coat having a large ruched collar and the frock being ornamented with panels of figured crepe de chine in rose, beige, and blue. Her black satin hat was trimmed with a smart osprey of rose beige. When the bride and bridegroom left for their wedding tour to the north the former wore a tailored costume of deep mushroom pink and blue, small blue corded ribbon hat, banded with small shaded mushroom flowers, and an Alaskan fox fur, the gift of the bridegroom.
