CHRISTS COLLEGE OLD BOYS’ ANNUAL BALL.

Each year, at the close of the last term, the Christ’s College Old Boys hold their annual ball. This dance is always eagerly anticipated and well attended. This year’s dance, which took place in the Memorial Hall last evening, was no exception to the general rule. One end of the hall was arranged as a lounge, with comfortable chairs' and decorated with palms and maples. The committee who organised the dance left nothing to be desired, every comfort having been provided for their guests. The members of the committee were:—Dr Douglas Anderson, - Dr Leslie Averili, Messrs R. C. Hobbs, A. I. Cottrell, J. D. Lawrence, Leslie LeCren, D. M. Stewart and S. P. Godfrey (secretary). Music for the dancing was supplied by the Bailey-Marston Orchestra. Amongst the guests were: The Rev E. C. Crosse, headmaster of Christ’s College, Mr A. E. Flower, Mr J. G. L. Vernon,' President of Christ’s College Old Boys’ Association, and Mr T. Milliken, President of Christchurch Boys’ High School Old Boys’ Association. Those present included:—Mesdames S. P. Godfrey, Edric Wait, Vesey Hamilton, Leslie Averili, W. Matson, Donald Dobson and B. L. Blunden, Misses Barbara Webb, Molly Chapman, Dorothy Parsons, Ruth Haggitt, Judith Jameson, Phillipa Hamilton, Kathleen Needham, Dora Deal. Madge Simpson, Ruby M’Clelland, Shona Dampier-Crossley, Adelaide Minnett, Prue Smith, Madge Hardie, Eleanor West-Watson, Billie Allen, Isobel Turrell, Molly Black, Elizabeth Harris, Maude Nichols, Betty Evans, Joan Shand, Anthea Loughnan, Pauline Kitto, Yvonne Baxter, Nancy Gard’ner, Joan Cottrell, G. Mabin, Linsell Benson, Marjorie Studholme, Margaret Minson, Sybil Rutherford Nancy M’Kellar, Phyllis Norton-Francis, Molly Bean, Millicent Jennings, Juanita Manhire, Phyllis Whale, Colleen Lulcis, Eve Lynskey, Lorna Wood, Dorothy Eccles, Ruth Taylor, Louie lies, Rana Redpath, Marjorie Frostick, Cynthia Fisher and Peggy Lake.
