NEW ZEALAND PRIEST RETURNS FROM ROME.

(Special to the "Star.”) AUCKLAND, December 5. A musical priest, Father G. B. O'Meeghan, of Timaru, returned to-day by the Maunganui after two years at the Irish College in Rome. Before his ordination he was organ-iser-manager of the Digger Pierrot troup which toured New Zealand for patriotic purposes, and he gave an organ recital in the Wellington Town Hall. While at Rome he conducted the college choir, and also the choir at the Pontifical Requiem for Cardinal O’Donnell. Although unable to attend a regular course at the Scola in Rome Father O’Meeghan in his spare moments did much to improve his musical education. Two Aucklanders are at the Irish College, Father F. Terry, who was recently ordained, znd Mr W. B. Flynn.
