The Railway Department is calling tenders for the supply of lubricating and gas making oil by advertisement appearing in this issue. A Press Association message from Kelson says that the control of the maggots of blowflies in sheep by means of their natural enemy was undertaken m 1926 by Dr Miller, chief entomologist of the Cawthron Institute, when holding the position of New Zealand Government entomologist. Bv arrangement with the Department, the work has been conducted at Cawthron Insti lute and Dr Miller has been successful , m his experiments. Portion of the Cawthron Insectaries has been set apart for mass production of parasite; and the brood secured since the winter will be distributed. A large consignment of parasites sent to Australia proved a great success.
