At Roma, the Circuit Court jury returned a verdict of manslaughter, with a strong recommendation to mercy, due to provocation, against the brothers Laycock. Both were sentenced to five years’ imprisonment. —Australian Press Association. Arthur Laycock and Charles Laycock were concerned in a drunken brawl, in which Arthur beat another to death. Charles offered to take the blame, as his brother, Arthur, was married and had a family.
