SHIPWRECK RELIEF FUND STEADILY ACCUMULATES

Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, May 22. At the anuual meeting of the New Zealand Shipwreck Relief Society, accumulated funds were announced as £13,003, and the year’s surplus as £IOO7. The Union Company's contribution to the funds was £473. The president, Sir William Sim, commented on the happy fact that there had been no disaster for many years which enabled a large fund to be built up. Only £63 had been paid out during thie year. In answer to an appeal by Captain Attwood for help for a fisherman who lost his boat in a gale, the sum of £lO was voted.
