WEDDING.

ELMS—GUNNION. At the Temuka Presbyterian Church on May 3 Irene Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Gunnion, was married to Charles Stewart, eldest son of Mr and Mrs C. Elms, Fairlie, the ceremony being performed by the Rev 11. R. Fell, M.A., B.D. Miss A. Davey presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory georgette with a frilled lace panel and trimmings of silver leaves and rosebuds. She wore a long embroidered veil arranged fanwise at the back and held in front with a simple coronet of three trails of orange blossom and pearls. She /wore silver shoes and stockings and carried a beautiful shower bouquet. Miss Mona Gunnion attended her sister as chief bridesmaid wearing a frock of apricot Paris net made with a tight fitting bodice and frilled skirt. Her head dress of tulle and gold leaves was made coronet style fanwise at the back and ending in a scarf. She carried a bouquet of golden chrysanthemums and autumn leaves. Miss Kathleen Gunnion and Miss Rona Clements each wore a dress of shaded green Paris net made with tight bodices and frilLed skirts. With tulle caps to match their frocks and carrying bouquets of chrysanthemums and leaves. The bridegroom was assisted by his brothers, Mr Percy Elms as best man and Mr Charles Elms as groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held in the parish hall, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a frock of navy crepe de chine relieved with red and a hat to tone. MVs Elms, mother of the bridegroom, wore a frock of black panne velvet, a black hat and a white fox fur; she carried a bouquet of roses and autumn leaves.

Later in the afternoon Mr and Mrs C. S. Elms left for the north by car amidst showers of confetti. The bride travelling in a tweed costume, hat to match and a fox fur.
