Young, S.M., Leslie Albert Urquhart, of Hastings, a forest ranger, was convicted of having been in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor lorry at Dannevirke. He was fined £lO, ordered to pay £4 expenses, and his license was suspended until May 31, 1929. Accused had been vgiven a friendly warning by a constable to get someone to take the lorry to a garage and £tay in town for the night, but he did not do so. Subsequently, in 4he middle of the night, the lorry capsized when defendant was proceeding to a camp in the Ruahine Ranges. Suppression of the name was declined, the Magis-, trate remarking that it was advisable the Forestry Department should know something of the matter.
