CHINAMAN FOUND DEAD IN LAUNDRY.

ROOM WAS FILLED WITH GAS FROM IRON

A Chinaman named Wing’Loon was found dead in bed on Lis laundry premises at 63, Manchester Street. this morning. The room was full of gas. Wing Loon was lying face downwards on the bed, and was clad in singlet, shirt, and pyjamas. The gas had come, from the laundry iron, the tap of which was still turned on.

Wing Loon, aged about 24, conducted a Chinese laundry. He was the only sleeper on the premises, and w r as a single man. He was discovered by Ah Ling, a friend from Rangiora, at about 10.30 a.m. to-day.
