SLING BREAKS AT WORKSHOPS.

FITTER RECEIVES FRACTURE OF ARM

Through a sling breaking at the Addington Railway Workshops this morning. W. Bell, a married man. received a compound fracture of the right arm and injuries to his chest. lie is suffering also from shock, and has been taken to the Christchurch Hospital. The sling, which was used to lift a small iron fire-door, caught in the studs on the side of a boiler in the work-

shop. The door fell on to Bell. He is an apprentice fitter. The accident happened shortly before 11 a.m. Bell lives at 394, St Asaph -Street.
