Impressed with the thrill of the word •* revolution,” and the emotional fire of the French, “ Les Miserables,” which is being screened at Liberty Theatre, is one of the most dramatic works which has ever been witnessed here. The picture, which took two years to produce, at times assumes tremendous proportions and some of the scenes, such as that at the famous “ Barricades.” are marvellous. It has been produced by the Societe des Cineromans of Paris, and is true to the story in every detail. The cast is entirely French. Gabriel Crabrio accomplishes a remarkable portrayal in the role of Jean Valjean. the peasant philanthropist. He is supported by a number of other well-known French artists, including Sandra Milowanoff. Tean Toulout. Paul Jorge, M. Rozet, G Saillard. Charles Badiole, M. Maillard, Paul Guide, Clara Dareez-Roche, Andree Rolane, Nivette Saillard, Renee Carl. In all over 5000 people were engaged in the production of the film. The musical portion of the programme is an entertainment in itself.
