Sir.-—The writer with much pleasure, has watched the steady-transformation of a grazing paddock to what now is one of the most beautiful playinggrounds in the city. Our councillors who take many hard “rubs" as their reward for unselfish devotion to public work are to be congratulated on their success in connection with Spreydon Park. But. surely those gates at the main entrance rare only an April joke. I am quite in accord with the Council in their endeavour to economise, but why disfigure the whole scene with that out-of-date collection of old ironwork. I trust that some other interested persons, say, the members of the Burgesses’ Association will take the matter up and get more up-to-date gates fitted to our Park. I am, etc.. RESIDENT.
