BY SINBAD. Come make your district’s praises known, each Canterbury man, for once again it- has been shown that Canterbury can. And Canterbury yachtsmen bold have cleaned allcomers up, so for a year at least we’ll hold the much sought Sanders cup. By two bold youngsters from the port the good work was begun, by skilful sailing feats, in short, the Cornwell Cup was won. And Betty meanwhile gallantly® in eaqh day’s thrilling race had quickly eaten up the sea an'd shown a lot of pace. The first event to Auckland went, won well by Avalon and folk down south did thus comment: “The Sanders Cup # is gone. This latest Auckland sailing boat, which won so signally, is quite the fastest thing afloat, a win for her we’ll see.” Then Mr Andrews came to light, displaying startling skill. He proved the victor in the fight while Auckland had a spill. When they the final stage did reach, we hushed to hear the fate, for with two wins annexed by each excitement sure was great. Oh, Joy! The Canterbury boat has fairly swept the sea, and thus does Canterbury gloat. Oh Betty! You’Tl do me.
