WEDDINGS.
A X NETT—GLASSE Y. A wedding took place at the Presbyterian Church, St Andrews, recently, when Gertrude, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Wm. Annett. of “Ridgemont.” St Andrews, was united in holy matrimony to Joseph Alexander Glassey, of Ruapuna. The church was beautifully decorated with white flowers and greenery by the friends of the bride. The Rev A. Al’Xeur officiated. Air Axel Newton, of Timaru, presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a simple frock of white brocaded satin, the bodice being draped slightly to one side, and caught with a silver buckle and streamers of pearls. The sleeves, worn to the wrists, were oi" white georgette. A beautifully embroidered veil, arranged into a silver head band, with clusters of orange blossom on either side, and a shower bouquet of white roses, daisies. and fern, completed a charming toilet. The bride was attended by her sister, Jean, who wore a frock of apricot crepe de chine, apricot shoes and stockings to match. v She wore a pretty head band wreath of apricot and lavender flowers, with silver leaves, and long streamers of narrow ribbon, trem the side. Her bouquet was of lavender and pale pink flowers, with asparagus fern and streamers of laven- ' der ribbon. Little Thelma Cooper, niece of the bride, was flower girl, . i wearing a dainty white frilled geor- ; gette frock, over silk, and finished with palest pink baby ribbon. On her head was worn a wreath of pink daisies, with streamers of ribbon, and she carried a pretty basket of delicate pink hothouse flowers. Owing to the epidemic restrictions, the other tiny flower i girl. Patty Glassey, niece of the bridej groom, was unable to attend, her place : being filled by the bride's little bro- ; ther, David, who wore a cream suit ; white shoes and socks and carried u ' crook tied with a large bow and j streamers of pale blue ribbon. Mr Andrew Glassey of Ruapuna, was best. : After the ceremony a reception was , held at Mr and Mrs Annett’s residence, j ‘‘Ridgemont.’’ Mrs Annett wore a black mousselir.e frock, caught tlic side with a cluster O flowers, a black ! hat relieved with gold. Site carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted leaves and flowers, with streamers of gold ribbon. The breakfast, which was attended by one hundred and fifty guests, was held in the spacious granary, which was decorated with flowers, greenery, and streamers of the bridesmaid's colours. After the usual toasts had been honoured a song was rendered by Airs H. S. Palmer. Later in tlie day Air and Mrs A. Glassey left for the south, t ; < bri<le \\ earing smartly-braided navy costume, a navv > velour hat, trimmed with tiny red and \ gold flowers. In the evening Air and Mrs .Annett entertained about two hundred guests in the St Andrews Public Hall.
